Rob & Priya’s Bold Sangeet | Globe and Mail Centre Wedding by Ethereal Creators

Planning a wedding at the Globe and Mail Centre?

Rob & Priya’s colourful Sangeet celebration at the Globe and Mail Centre, one of Toronto’s most sought-after wedding venues, was a stunning display of creativity, custom design, and thoughtful storytelling. Known for its panoramic city views and minimalist interior, Globe and Mail offers a blank canvas—but turning that blank canvas into an immersive, unforgettable experience requires more than just florals and furniture. It requires vision, intention, and artistry—the heart of what we do at Ethereal Creators.

The Design Challenge: Telling a Story Through Space

When Priya and Rob approached us, they didn’t just want pretty flowers and furniture. They wanted the night to feel alive—something guests could walk through, interact with, and remember long after the last song played.

The challenge with modern venues like Globe and Mail is that while they’re beautiful, they start off as a neutral shell. This means every layer—from layout to lighting to floral selection—needs to be curated with intention.

We started by asking:

  • How should guests feel as they walk in?

  • What moments do we want to highlight?

  • How can design encourage movement, conversation, and joy?

These are the types of questions that guide every project we take on.

Colour Zones: A Modern Take on Tradition

For this Sangeet, we created four immersive colour zones—blue, green, berry, and pink. Each was more than a palette; it was a mood and a story.

  • Blue brought depth and richness, creating a bold, moody atmosphere.

  • Green introduced freshness and calm, grounding the space with a natural tone.

  • Berry added drama and elegance, with deeper jewel-toned florals and accents.

  • Pink delivered softness and vibrancy, setting a joyful and romantic tone.

These zones were carefully curated through coordinated florals, candles, furniture, and vases, with even the smallest details reinforcing the experience. We styled fresh fruits—like dragonfruit, blackberries, and grapes—into the floral work to add unexpected texture and richness.

It’s this level of layered design that transforms a room from simply decorated to deeply felt.

Custom Elements Make All the Difference

Luxury design isn’t about copying what’s trending—it’s about personalization, quality, and storytelling.

For Rob & Priya, that meant:

  • A custom ceiling treatment designed to frame the energy of the dance floor.

  • Curated furniture groupings that encouraged guests to lounge, connect, and enjoy.

  • A bespoke bar design that didn’t just serve drinks—it became a feature in the space.

  • Floral arrangements styled not only in vases but cascading over tables and displays to give dimension from every angle.

At Ethereal Creators, our process always involves marrying your story with high-concept design thinking—ensuring the final result feels elevated, immersive, and unmistakably yours.

Designing at the Globe and Mail Centre: A Wedding Designer’s Perspective

The Globe and Mail Centre is a venue we love working at because of its versatility. With its expansive open layout and clean architectural lines, it allows us to dream big. However, it also demands a high level of creativity to transform its neutrality into something deeply personal.

It’s not enough to “fill the space.” It’s about transforming it, layering design elements to create dimension, movement, and emotion.

At Ethereal Creators, we approach each Globe and Mail wedding as a new canvas—using architectural features as a foundation to build immersive, high-concept experiences that feel completely custom to each couple.
