Luxury Weddings at Shangri-La Toronto
Shangri-La Toronto has become one of the most sought-after hotel wedding venues in the city — and for good reason. With its floor-to-ceiling windows, modern architecture, and prime downtown location, it’s a dream canvas for couples who want a luxury urban celebration.
For Mark and Carly, elegance meant simplicity done beautifully. Their vision was minimal, romantic, and incredibly refined, with a deep love for calla lilies — and the hotel’s natural light and architectural lines made it the perfect match.
At Ethereal Creators, we designed both their ceremony and reception, transforming two separate spaces inside Shangri-La into an immersive, seamless experience.
Ceremony in the Museum Room: Minimalism with Meaning
The ceremony took place in Shangri-La’s Museum Room, a light-filled space wrapped in windows overlooking downtown Toronto.
Even though the room has a modern warmth to it, lighting can change quickly depending on the weather — so we used its natural features intentionally:
Natural daylight from the windows as the main illumination
Black aisle runner to ground the space and add contrast
Structured floral clusters of calla lilies, hydrangeas, and soft greenery placed at varying heights
Clear pedestals and glass vessels to keep everything airy and architectural
No vinyl flooring or draping was needed — Shangri-La’s built-in finishes already deliver a beautifully upscale look, which helps couples save on additional rentals.
The result was a serene, gallery-like ceremony setting with a subtle romantic glow.
Reception in the Queen’s Park Ballroom
For the reception, we moved into the Queen’s Park Ballroom, transforming the room into a warm, candlelit dinner experience.
The palette remained true to the couple — white, soft greens, and layered neutrals — but we elevated the mood through repetition and symmetry:
Tall glass candleholders lining each table
Clusters of calla lilies arranged in contemporary vessels
Soft linen textures paired with black charger plates
Warm uplighting to complement the ballroom’s wood panels
The overall aesthetic was modern, timeless, and perfectly aligned with Shangri-La’s sophisticated environment.
Our Design Approach for Mark & Carly
Mark and Carly booked Ethereal Creators six months in advance, giving us time to:
Explore their design inspiration
Refine the colour palette
Select florals that matched their minimal romantic vision
Design both ceremony + reception layouts
Coordinate with Shangri-La’s team and their planner
Because we don’t offer florals alone, the entire look — from ceremony structure to reception styling — was curated cohesively by our designers. The couple’s elegant stationery also tied effortlessly into the overall aesthetic.
