THE CHAI LIFELINE CANADA 20TH ANNIVERSARY GALA
An 800-Guest Charity Gala, Designed & Produced by Ethereal Creators
Inside the Chai Lifeline Canada 20th Anniversary Gala — an 800-guest charity event Ethereal Creators designed and produced, from a custom-branded stage to a fully transformed ballroom. A look at how we design corporate and charity galas in Toronto.
A milestone charity gala carries a different kind of weight than a wedding. It has to move 800 guests, honour two decades of a cause, reflect the organization's brand, and — quietly — help raise the funds the night depends on. Design isn't decoration at an event like this; it's the atmosphere that makes people feel, give, and remember.
Ethereal Creators is a Toronto luxury event design and floral studio — a Canadian Event Awards 2026 winner and WedLuxe Glitterati member. For Chai Lifeline Canada's 20th Anniversary Gala at Embassy Grand in Brampton, we designed and produced the full environment for 800 guests: a custom branded stage, a completely transformed ballroom, architectural florals and layered lighting. Here's how it came together — and what it shows about the way we approach corporate events.
Quick Answer: What Did We Design for the Chai Lifeline Gala?
For the Chai Lifeline Canada 20th Anniversary Gala at Embassy Grand in Brampton, Ethereal Creators designed and produced a full 800-guest charity event — including a custom branded LED stage, complete ballroom draping and transformation, custom flooring, layered and projected (gobo) lighting, architectural black-calla-and-greenery centrepieces, lounge vignettes and hundreds of tablescapes — in an elegant palette of emerald, blush and gold.
The Brief: 800 Guests, One Milestone
Chai Lifeline Canada's 20th Anniversary Gala needed to feel celebratory and dignified at once — a room that honoured 20 years of the organization's work, carried its branding throughout, and created an elevated experience for a very large audience. The scale (800 guests) and the purpose (a fundraising gala) meant every design decision had to serve both beauty and function.
The Design: Emerald, Blush & Gold
We built the palette around rich emerald green, soft blush and warm gold — sophisticated, celebratory and perfectly on-brand. Long communal tables in deep emerald were set against round tables in blush velvet linens and gold geometric chairs, tying the whole room together. Curved blush lounge vignettes gave guests moments to gather between the formal seating.
Designer note: For a gala of this size, a disciplined two-tone palette (here, emerald and blush, unified by gold) is what keeps a huge room feeling designed and cohesive rather than chaotic.
The Custom Branded Stage
The stage was the heart of the room. We designed a sweeping, custom-built backdrop with a curved, illuminated wave motif, flanked by screens carrying the Chai Lifeline Canada 20th Anniversary branding so the organization's identity was present from every seat. Layered, lit steps and an integrated podium tied the design into the AV and program — a designed stage-set, not a rented backdrop.
Designer note: At a corporate or charity gala, the stage does double duty — it's the visual anchor of the room and the backdrop to every speech, award and appeal. Designing it around the brand makes the whole night feel intentional.
Room Transformation & Lighting
• Full draping. The entire ballroom was wrapped in soft draping to create a seamless, elevated envelope.
• Custom flooring. A clean, light custom floor unified the vast space and reflected the lighting beautifully.
• Layered & projected lighting. Warm uplighting plus projected gobo patterns added texture and movement across the drapes and floor.
• Full production. Staging, AV integration, branding and lighting were designed and coordinated as one — the scope a large gala demands.
The Florals: Architectural & Modern
The centrepieces were anything but expected. Long tables were crowned with dramatic runners of lush green foliage, while sculptural arrangements paired deep aubergine-black calla lilies with looped, architectural grasses — modern, artful and unmistakably designed. It's floral work that reads as art direction, not just flowers on a table.
Why This Is How We Approach Corporate Events
The Chai Lifeline gala shows what we bring to every corporate and charity event: brand-led design, full in-house production, and the ability to execute at scale. Design at an event like this isn't a nice-to-have — it shapes how guests feel, how the brand is remembered, and how generously the room responds. That's why we treat corporate events with the same artistry as our luxury weddings.
