Nikkah Venues in Toronto: 7 Indoor & Outdoor Spaces, Designed by Ethereal Creators
The best Nikkah venues in Toronto and the GTA
The right Nikkah venue comes down to three things: whether you want the ceremony outdoors, how many guests you're inviting, and whether the kitchen can serve a fully halal menu. These seven venues cover every combination, from an intimate garden Nikkah for 100 to a ballroom for 500.
We've designed weddings at every one of them. Here's what each space does best, and what to ask before you book.

Capacities and catering come from each venue's own site or its EventSource and WeddingWire listings. Confirm both for your date.
Outdoor Nikkah venues
Aga Khan Museum
For many couples this is the Nikkah venue. The Aga Khan Park is a formal garden built on traditional Islamic garden motifs, with five reflecting pools and manicured lawns. Few settings in Toronto suit the ceremony this well.
The museum's rooms give you options either side of the ceremony. The Bellerive Room seats 40 for an intimate family Nikkah. The Courtyard, open to the sky but enclosed in glass, seats 130 and makes a natural rain plan. The Atrium seats 200 for the reception.
What we'd design: let the architecture lead. Restrained florals in white and green, a low stage that keeps the garden in view, and seating that frames the couple against the pools. Outdoor photos need a museum permit, so book it with the venue.
2.Paletta Mansion, Burlington
A historic lakefront mansion on 14 wooded acres, and one of the most romantic small venues in the GTA. The ceremony takes place on the Verandah overlooking the grounds, with the Great Room as an indoor backup.
Know the limits before you fall in love. The mansion seats up to 100 for dinner, events can't be held on the lawn, and tents aren't allowed under city bylaw. For a Nikkah of 100 or fewer, that intimacy is the point.
What we'd design: we designed a Sangeet here, and the Verandah rewards a soft, garden-led stage that doesn't fight the lake view behind it.
Indoor or outdoor Nikkah venues
These three let you hold the Nikkah outside and move indoors for the reception, or bring everything in if the weather turns.
3.Casa Loma
The gardens cover five acres with a view over the city, and the Conservatory, with its stained-glass ceiling, is one of Toronto's most beautiful indoor ceremony rooms. Casa Loma hosts ceremonies of about 250, and the Library seats 210 for the reception. It appears on EventSource's list of historic venues with halal catering.
What we'd design: the castle brings its own grandeur, so the Nikkah stage can stay classic: florals in ivory and blush, with warm lighting once the sun goes down.
4.Royal Ambassador, Caledon
On Innis Lake, with two outdoor ceremony spaces: the Lakeside Gazebo and the wooded Terrace Gazebo, each holding 200 or more. Indoors, the Embassy seats up to 500 and splits into two rooms of 300 and 200. The in-house kitchen offers a fully halal menu and South Asian cuisine, which makes this one of the simplest choices for a large Nikkah and reception on one site.
What we'd design: a lakeside Nikkah with the gazebo dressed in florals, then a full transformation in the Embassy for the reception.
5.Liberty Grand, Toronto
A heritage venue at Exhibition Place, built for scale. The tree-shaded Courtyard seats 400 for an open-air ceremony, and the Governors Room seats 800 for the largest receptions. Its listing shows halal and kosher menus and allows outside caterers, so families with a preferred halal caterer have options.
What we'd design: an outdoor Nikkah in the Courtyard, then a reception that uses the building's columns and high ceilings.
Indoor Nikkah venues
6.Fairmont Royal York, Toronto
The classic choice for a large Nikkah, and one we know well. We designed a wedding week here with a Nikkah followed by the reception on the same day, then the Valima, all under one roof. Each had its own theme and its own build, and keeping every event in one hotel meant guests never had to move.
The hotel's event spaces range from mezzanine rooms for 12 to 200 up to the Imperial Room, Ballroom and Canadian Room for the largest families.
What we'd design: a distinct look for each event, with the turnaround between the Nikkah and the reception planned with the hotel well in advance.
7.Globe and Mail Centre, Toronto
A modern 17th-floor venue with skyline views, for couples who want something contemporary. All catering comes from outside companies, and the venue's listing shows both halal and kosher food available. It seats 300, though we plan 225 once a dance floor goes in.
What we'd design: we've designed two Sangeets here. For a Nikkah, the long room works best divided into zones: the ceremony at one end, lounges and dinner beyond. Open-flame candles are allowed, which matters for an evening ceremony. Read our full Globe and Mail Centre guide.
Questions to ask any venue before booking a Nikkah
Venue websites rarely answer these, so ask in writing:
• Is the kitchen fully halal, or does it prepare a halal menu alongside others? Who certifies it?
• Can we bring our own halal caterer, and is there a fee for that?
• Can the event be alcohol-free, and does that change the bar minimum or the price?
• Is there a quiet room guests can use for prayer?
• If we'd like separate seating for some guests, can the floor plan allow for it?
• What is the rain plan for an outdoor ceremony, and when do we have to decide?
• How long do we have between the Nikkah and the reception to turn the room?
